Dear Members of St. James,
In response to the devastation we
witnessed the past few days, our church is planning to share a meal with
those in need in downtown Columbia. This is being done quickly and is
scheduled for Friday afternoon and we need your help. We will serve
food from a parking lot at 915 Lady Street (parking lot is actually on
Washington) and the menu is being planned. If you would like to assist
in the preparation of this meal or distribution of this meal, we will
have a brief planning meeting Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 6:00 pm in
the Sanctuary. We are hoping to serve a hot meal that is not pizza,
hamburgers, or hot dogs. If you cannot help in these areas, you may
donate food, money or any items needed by local shelters.
(non-perishable food, toiletries, pillows, sheets, blankets, diapers,
wipes, crayons & coloring books.) Once details are in place, we
will send a calling post message with specific food needs. This is a
great opportunity to live out our mission statement: Go in peace. Share
