CHILDREN'S CHRISTMAS PARTY

Come be a part of the fun on Sunday, December 20th!  We will begin our party at 3:00 PM, at which time children can meet Abraham, a REAL, LIVE camel.  At 4:00 PM local author, Joby Castine, will read his new book, Cami Camel's Christmas Carol.  Then a simple meal will follow that includes birthday cake, in celebration of the birth of Jesus. Admission is FREE and all are welcome to join us in celebration.

TRUNK or TREAT!

With many of us still recovering and rebuilding from the floods that have devastated areas of South Carolina, it is hard to believe that Halloween is upon us.  St. James Lutheran Church would like to help fill the need for family fun. Bring your kids and come join us on Saturday, October 31st at 6:00PM for a frightfully great time!  We will have trunk loads full of candies to share, so dress to scare and join us this Halloween.

Feeding Our Friends

Dear Members of St. James,

In response to the devastation we witnessed the past few days, our church is planning to share a meal with those in need in downtown Columbia.  This is being done quickly and is scheduled for Friday afternoon and we need your help.  We will serve food from a parking lot at 915 Lady Street (parking lot is actually on Washington) and the menu is being planned.  If you would like to assist in the preparation of this meal or distribution of this meal, we will have a brief planning meeting Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 6:00 pm in the Sanctuary.  We are hoping to serve a hot meal that is not pizza, hamburgers, or hot dogs.  If you cannot help in these areas, you may donate food, money or any items needed by local shelters.  (non-perishable food, toiletries, pillows, sheets, blankets, diapers, wipes, crayons & coloring books.)  Once details are in place, we will send a calling post message with specific food needs.  This is a great opportunity to live out our mission statement:  Go in peace. Share the Good News.  Make Christ Known. Questions may be directed to Katrina Shealy at 530-8787 or Laura Hibbs at 600-1823.
