St. Francis Pet Blessing

Each Autumn, we celebrate St. Francis Day at St. James with a blessing of the animals. Bring your pets to the front lawn of our church on Tuesday, November 13, at 7PM for a brief worship service with the animals and a blessing of each individual pet. Dogs, Cats, Turtles, Gerbils, Goldfish, Snakes, and others are all welcome! Our God created the Universe, called everything "good," and sent us forth to care for the creation which He made. Help us celebrate God's good creation together!

New Bible Study

We are starting a new monthly Bible study at St. James especially for our Golden Agers/OWLs. We will meet at 10:30AM on November 12 and 26. Our study will focus on the End Times. Sound scary? Come and find out more.

Which Way?

Our young people at St. James brought their friends along to make their way through a corn maze a few weeks ago. They also spent this fall going Trick-or-Treating for canned goods,  starting a new Youth-Led Bible Study, and meeting regularly to play games and share a time of fellowship. God is at work in the lives of all of us-no matter our age.

For All The Saints

All Saints' Sunday is coming up on the first Sunday in November. This year, we will once again fill up our sanctuary with candles representing all of the saints whom we love, who have died and are now resting in the eternal light of Christ. Would you like to have a candle lighted in memory of your loved one? Contact the church office, or fill out a form and place it in the offering plate. The cost of each votive is $2.50, and you may take it home with you after worship. The final week to order your votive is the week of Sunday, October 21.

Clemson-Carolina Food Drive

Which team do you root for: Clemson or Carolina? Support your team this fall at St. James and help out those in need in our community by bringing in canned goods and putting them in the Clemson or Carolina buckets in our narthex. The team with the most canned goods will win!

October Bible Series: Death and Dying

On Tuesday evenings in October, join us for a discussion and Bible study on Death and Dying. Our series will include a focus on the Biblical view of what happens when we die, the Biblical history of mourning and funerals, and we will cover questions about everything from heaven and hell to cremation and ghosts. We will take time to examine the details and history of the Lutheran funeral liturgy. We will also hear from a doctor on the medical aspect of dying as well as a lawyer regarding living wills. Our sessions will meet every Tuesday at 6:30PM in the sanctuary.
