Operation Inasmuch 2013
With God's light shining through us, we cleaned up parks.
We expanded our food pantry and repaired a roof.
We collected food.
We stocked our shelves.
We planted a garden.
We worked together.
We filled up backpacks for students,
And laundry baskets for families,
We served food.
We shared God's love.
"Faith, hope, and love remain: these three. But the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:13

Growing In God's Mission
St. James is working together with the SC Synod in a new effort called, Growing in God's Mission. Hear more about what this entails in our temple talks at the beginning of our worship services in the weeks to come. Growing in God's Mission is a campaign that includes equipping laypeople in evangelism and stewardship, helping mission congregations to get started and become self-sustained in SC, helping established congregations to become more connected and engaged in their communities, assisting future generations of church leaders, and even working across the globe to build a teacher's college with the SW Diocese of Tanzania. God is busy and active in the SC Synod, working through all of us to spread Christ's love near and far and to raise up disciples in His name.

Youth Sunday
We are grateful to God for our Youth Group, who shines the light of Christ at St. James as they share their gifts and proclaim the good news of our Risen Savior.
This past Sunday, they led the entire church service, and did a fantastic job, if we do say so ourselves.
During the Offertory, each young person laid down beside the altar a symbol of their gifts and talents that God has given them to proclaim the Gospel near and far.
"Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12

Operation Inasmuch 2013
Operation Inasmuch is coming up on Saturday, April 13. Some of this year's projects include planting a church garden, cleaning up a local park, putting together care packages for military workers, collecting food pantry donations from local grocery stores, cooking and delivering warm meals to families in need, repairing a roof for a family in the community, and hosting 3 seminars for senior citizens about brain training and memory strengthening, Alzheimer's, and tips on nutritional wellness. Sign up this week to help us in these and other various projects as we follow in Christ's footsteps and take care of others.

Washing Feet
During the season of Lent, our Children's Sunday School classes collected washcloths and soap to make Footwashing Kits for people who are in need.
With the help of the congregation, they were able to create 90 Footwashing Kits all together and are looking forward to giving them away in April. Wow! What a blessing it is that even the youngest members of our church can serve others as Christ has served us.
"If I, your teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet." John 13:12
